alright. its all done now except for the rope thing for th pipes. i wraped fake vines n them for now. im going to try wrapping cheap cheap ace bandages around them and see if that works. eather way, ace or rope, as long as he can climb it, we are happy. ok , now you will notice that i have no thermometer and humidity gage.. that seems to be a popular criticism,. i am getting one the 16th of this month at our animal expo in the area. this weekend we will be exploring on ways to keep a good day/night temparature. we have other means of checks these things other than the gages in tanks. also, depending on our results, i may make three sides of this out of plexi, to hold moisture, but i think there is no need. its not dry in here to begin with let alone the frequent misting. i realize that we will need to upgrade soon and that we shouldnt get to complex, but everything you see here is colapseable. so if i feel the need to cange ANYTHING, i can do so. nothing is glue or sealed. well guys, let me know what you think. the picswill be up in a few minutes. they will come in a wave of replys....small waves, dont worry

That really does look very nice! That's gonna be a great tree when you finally get it covered if you choose to do so. I think the sisal would look the best and the easiest for the ig to climb without claws getting stuck, though. It's used for cat/iguana trees and scratching posts, bird perches and so much more. It's cheap and comes in pretty thick diameters. I've been wanting to make Zair a large one. He's got SO much cage with very little in it really. This would give him more exercise...:-) If you wrap it tight like they way they are around cat scratching posts it looks very nice. Tack it with an aquarium sealer which dries non-toxic.

Wow, Beautiful Ig, I use 3" PVC and ABS and wrap in 3/4 or 1 " rope. Sisal is great and I dont know of any probs with Manila. any one else know? It works great but they can have a little of a hard time just after a claw trimming.

Manila should be a fine addition. I haven't heard anything bad about it either.

the new remodling is a blessing to our iguana but a curse to us... i thought he was still docile, and i reached in his cage the same way i have always done, and he felt threated and ever since that first time, he goes berserk every time i go near the cage no matter how gentle i come... i read about this. like the woman who sold him to me maybe wasnt treating him right or somthing or made him cold before she came to the show. now that he is better feeling, he returns to normal state, which is killer psycho i guess. any suggestions? maybe is the setup doing somthing wrong?

You're not doing anything wrong! You have to remember - iguanas are wild animals...period. There are a bunch of things going on here. His home has been changed - again. He has new people to deal with. He is getting better care which is getting him to feeling better - and feeling better means back to normal. He is acting normal for an ig under all those conditions. If he WAS NOT acting that way I would be more worried.
Now the hard part begins - the socializing. This could take a bit of time. Expect it to take every bit of a year to do so...but it often doesn't take that long. Most of the time it takes around 6 months and less. It depends on the ig and how willing and dedicated you can be to pull this off.
20 minutes a day handling. You don't always have to hold them to interact for socializing. Talking and bribing with treats is another way. Grapes, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries are all foods my guy goes ga-ga over. You will slowly see results at first, but then there's that one day someone flips a switch where the ig "gets it". Yours will most likely "get it", too. There is the occasional ig that never does, but these are an exception...not a rule. Most can become very social.
