Back when Draco broke her/his leg the vet told me that Draco was a female. I am begining to wonder now. I have always refered to Draco as him. So i will continue. I have looked at the femoral pores and they seem about medium in size with the center of the circles having a bit of white. I looked at the pics of male vs female and dracos looks more like the males. i just dont know i mean not that it matters to me but would be nice to know the gender of my Draco. I tried taking some pics of the pores but my camera just isnt good enough. wayyyyy to blurry. how old are iguanas when the pores become more noticeable. it seems like to me that with the female they are very faint and males are more noticeable. well let me know whenever u can. maybe someday i will get a nicer camera and take pics of the pores .

My previous vet had told me that Narcy was a female when i first took him in. . . .of course he was fairly small. He was close to 2 1/2 or 3 years old before he really developed the secondary characteristics, probably because he had a bit of a rough start in life prior to being rescued. He finally confirmed his sex by leaving me a seminal plug.

What is Draco's SVL & age ? With my Drako, he was about 11" SVL & about 14 months when it became VERY obvious. Also look for the bulges at the base of the tail (underside, just below and to the sides of the vent).

Igs are usually 1 1/2 - 2 yrs old before you can start seeing the beginnings of the sexual charcteristics of what your ig might be.

Some vets are just so full of their own ego that it kills them to say, "I don't know!" So they give you an answer, any answer! Whether its right or not!

Draco is 14 inches from snout to vent. I am thinking that it is too soon to tell and I think our vet was making a guess about the gender. Guess time will tell. He is still pretty young. Well let me know what ya all think. Thanks alot everyone
