right i ahve seen bright green igs and i have seen igs with stirped tales and a slightly darker colour are these different sexes or does it just depend on the iguana itself?i prefer the striped tails but all the greener ones have been really bright and nice looking and all the striped tailed ones seem to be bigger, does this stiped tail business just come along with age?
thanks

Iguanas come in many different colors and shades, some have more stripes than others. Some have what look like leopard spots. None of it has to do with the sex of the Ig. And their markings can change as they go into adulthood.

There is no color difference between sexes. The difference in color have to do with the country or area of origin. Babies are bright green but fade as they age. Most iguanas will have striped tails unless they have lost their tail and it regentrated.

id have to agree, sex has nothing to do with color or markings, my ig has diff colors depending seasopn and shed periods, also depending on her mood. Also look at humans you have some lighter and darker males and females some with freckles and some without. Its a mixed bag thats the way life is. Regardless you have one of the best pets to own so be happy ;D ;D
