Well I guess that I went at this all backwards lol. I really think that this is a really cool board and I will be spending a lot of time here.
I will take a little of your time and tell you a little about me and my iggys.
Big boy (Iggy) is 5 years old and is 52-54" long and is about 6-7 lbs. We, Jon and I have raised him from a hatchling. I have always wanted to have an iguana all of my adult life and wwhen I met Jon we decided to get one. I got Iggy from Pass Pets pet store in a Mall for the price of about 19.00. I took him home and had no clue what to do with him. But I loved him very much. He grew very quckly and was very lovable and still is to this day. We had him for about 3 years before we ever took him to the vet. When we did the vet was very impressed with his health and how well taken care of he was. so I guess that we were doing thing right.
As for baby girl (Bam-Bam) she is 11/2 years old and is 40" long and is about 2 lbs. She was given to us by a pet store that specializes in reptiles. The place is called Aquatic Criters. Any way she was a returned pet. We just happened to be looking at her because she was almost white in color and the clerek came over to us and asked us if we wanted her we could have her because they would not be able to sell her because everyone that came into the store thought that she was sick because of her color being so pale. So we took her home. At the trime we did not know that she was a she thus the name Bam-Bam. lol.
When we took her to the vet for the first time that is when we founsd out the she was she and he! Thus calling her baby girl some of the time.
As for myself I live in Tennessee and I have 3 boys 20, 16 and 14 and a feiance Jon and one Granddaughter which is 2 years old. She adores the baby girl. We do not let big boy out around her just yet, not sure how he will react to small children.
Well if I can talk a friend of mine into posting some pictures of the igs I will see about getting them on the net for all to see. I look forward to talking to all of you Debbie and Babies.
