Hi all, I'm happy to have joined this forum group! As some of you may know (from the Ig Society board), I have a rescued ig that has been in my care for 6 months now. Just "confirmed" today that my Paco is a girl She is approx. 12-13" SVL and 40" total lenght. I'm still working on taming but am happy to say that we have made quite a few advances despite my clawed up hands and forearms! Now that I have her, I just can't imagine my life without an iguana. Our story: I never was a big fan of igs. Wasn't especially into their looks and from what I had heard of their temperments and needs had thought that they weren't for me. That was until I saw my PacoGirl! She was presented to me during a local herp meeting as a rescue in need of a good home. She has a jaw deformation due to prior MBD. I totally fell in love with her at first sight!!! I think it was her funny face The whole meeting I couldn't take my eyes off her and for the first time in my life, I considered getting an ig, particularly her. I told the girl who was keeping her at the time that I was very interested but that I needed a bit of time to take an iguana "crash course" in care and to prepare an adequate enclosure. A week later or so later, I brought her home and the rest is history! Pixie

Congrats on making such great progress! Your PacoGirl is lucky to have you it sounds like... I couldn't imagine life without an ig either. I have one permanent ig...Zair of 5 years...had him from a baby. One more female is going to her new home soon and one other small foster up for adoption. They're great beasties!

Hi Pixie-
Glad to see you hopped over from GIS. GIS is a top notch site and one of the best resources on the net.
Both Tesa and I are "GIS Trained". LOL
Paco is an absolute cutie. Unfortunate for the MBD, but I agree she is just a little cutie. I absolutely love her look.
We're glad to have you here participating. Post some pics of her and one of our "members-extraordinaire" James, will add her to the IZ Family Collage.
Continued good luck with Paco and feel free to post any questions you may have. We have quite a few GIS folks participating here. And we're all glad to help.
