hi my name is kris im 19,from chicago, and im new to the forum i have two iguanas 1male (gator because when he sleeps he looks like an alligator) and 1 female(jub-jub named after the ifuana on the simpsons) i got them from a petshop where they were recieving vey poor care they were vey skinny they were fed lettuce with a red sort of puree like food on top .jub-jubs tail bone was showing like a bag of bones i felt sorry for them so i took them home they eat lots of grens ,carrots,apples,squash,and other foods (with calcium supplements of course) now they have nearly tripled in weight and grew a few inches. they get lots to eat they down food like its going out of style LOL.they get alot of sun light when availible.they ar 1.5 y/o and alittle ove 2 feet each. ( i recently lost my older male iguan (King) to a break in of my hous he was a 4 year old male ) i beleive that they are happy now so i want to give a special thanx to tesa and dominick for this great form;-)

Hi Kris- Welcome to Iguana zone! We're glad to have you here. Glad to hear you took in those two little guys. Good on you for doing that! You probably saved their life! Other than a good UVB bulb, it sounds like you are doing everything just right. Keep up the good work. Feel free to post any questions or comments and of course, pictures are almost a requirement here! LOL Enjoy your time at the Zone.

hi yeah i was very devastated that was my baby i had hi for three years but that was a year ago and by the way dominick i now have a uvb light
