In reading about the diets and appetites of the iggys, I see that they eat the main meal in the morning and then bask the rest of the day.
My master, Iggy has the following schedule : lackey turns light on, Iggy wakes up and basks while lackey prepares his breakfast (6:30 am) Iggy decends to lower level, does potty dance and dives in to food bowl. Returns to upper level (dragging his gorged belly) to the basking area where he spends the next several hours. Repeat several times a day. Food bowl is filled once a day and it holds 3/4 - 1 full cup of veggies and greens that have been run through the food processor. They are chopped small, no bigger than 1/4 - 1/2 inch chunks.
Is this just his routine, (he also sheds about every other week) or is he trying to make up for the neglect he had in his other life?

Sounds normal to me!! Young igs still growing eat a lot - and yes - he could be trying to catch up so by all means let him eat. Zair will be 13 yrs on his next bday and he still eats an over-full pie plate and sometimes another half of one if I let him... ;D. He eats the majority of it in the morning, but he comes down often to graze through the day.
