when i took ringo to the vet there was a spot in the tail which was kind of kinked in a way. he said that from the mites he had the skin was putting a kink into the tail and that it would probably fall off there. it was looking ok for a while now... since ringo is getting much healthier... however i saw today that it is starting to fall off. its bent over at the spot and red flesh is visible. however its not bleeding out at all. is there anything i can or should do to help him out with it. sucks i loved the long tail. hope it comes back.

Keep neosporin on the open area and do soaks in a diluted betadine solution. Do not let your Ig unsepervised during these soaks and always soak in regular water first let him poop and drink then run new water and add the betadine. The tail should come off on its own soon, if it doesnt I would take him to the vet to have it removed

As far as taming I never really did anything special. I just made sure to move slow and not reach from above. You could try handling him before lights on and after lights off, get him when he is kind of groggy.

Your welcome. It can take many months of handling before you see any improvement, just be patient.

Well you could offer wheat bread or different types of fruit or even some of his own greens. Does he eat fruit? or is he still at that age where he doesnt want it?
