My 4ft flourescent bulb was a 5.0 which was good for winter because basking lights where closer to basking area but as summer is coming and my room stays at a warmer temperature i have to move the basking lights further away from the basking spot resulting in movement of the 5.0. I was thinking about switching to the 10.0 but the 5.0 is a T8 bulb and the 10.0 is a T12. The fixture i have i got from lowes said t8 on it the t12 fits fine but i was wondering if it will effect the uvb uva output on the t12 or should it be fine?
thanks in advance for info

Fluorescent tubes aren't that warm. There is no need to move them.

I hate that I missed this thread. Moving up to the 10.0 is a great idea. The UVB output is greatly increased without the heat being added to. Merlin said it - they just don't generate a lot of heat. Go for the 10.0...
