hi everyone! my name is nicolas and i live in athens, greece! my iguana's name is lorenzo and he's 3 years old! i'm new to this site so to begin with i have a problem i could really use your help...: lorenzo was always very friendly and energetic and had always the need to stay out of his terrarium! so i would take him out once in a while and leave him climb on me and relax on my neck or on my arms etc. lately he's got big, the terrarium was too small for him so i came up with a temporary plan to house him till i find an idea: i put a heating stone on a portable table large enough for him, came up with a small construction to support the uva,uvb lamb over him and put water near him for moisture (idiotic i know) i managed to keep the temperature in acceptable leveles but moisture is usually between 50-70% and it's hard to control it. i fear he'll soon have problems so i'd like to hear ideas what could i do to house him properly but also... in cheap ways :/ thanx in advance and nice entering the group!

Heat rocks are garbage there is a huge risk of your Ig burning himself on it because they heat unevenly and develope hot spots. You can run a humidifier near by to put moisture in the room. Just make sure the room stays at least 75 F and the basking spot 95-97 F There is a section for cage ideas be sure to check it out. I will be posting some pics of the cage we just built about 2 weeks ago and it only cost us about $175. Welcome to IZ

Yes heating lamps are much better for basking. What type of UVB bulb are you using?

You will have to buy a second tube or get a Mercury vapor mega ray to supply enough UVB. Its actually cheaper to purchase one mega ray which only needs replaced once a year than to replace 2 tubes twice a year.
