hi everyone i am new to this forum, i would like to know what is the best way to buy a healthy iguana. i live in quebec(canada) and i went to the pet store near my house but the iguanas there dont look in good health. there baby iguanas but there colour are not a bright light green they are more of a kind of dark green with darkkk kind of spots on them. does this mean there not in good conditions. thanks alot

oh and also the iguana at the pet store is not that big then the one in the picture

The Iguana in the picture looks very healthy. So if the ones at the store look that good I say go for it. You want want that is alert no crust in the eyes. A nice full tail.

i would also recommend going to a rescue, there are so many unloved beautiful iggies out there, and it's always a shame when the babies are chosen over them. you must also realize, an iguana is a VERY big leap into responsibility and time consumption. they live an upward of 15 years.... think about that lol

okk thanks to both i really appreciate it. and ya i know how much responsibility there is darkluvr in owning an iguana my dad had one and i could see how hard it was and how long it can reach lol thanks alot. oh and ya i dont think theres any rescue places where i live

you're welcome, and if you could maybe get some pics of the babies, we'd have a MUCH better idea of how healthy they are... and most pet stores have a 7 day policy, where if they are unhealthy or get hurt, they might pay the vet bills. look into that before you buy!
