I wanted to ask if anyone knew of a kind of coating that I could put on the wood in my Ig cage that would be safe. I want to make the wood easier to clean and protect against water damage. I would appreciate a reply back.
I also wondered if anyone has heard of people using fisherman's net on the walls in the cage itself? I am looking to attach some onto all of the walls if determined safe) so that my juv. Ig can climb the sides of the cage.
I Also was wondering if my cage is 3 1/2 ft long 2 1/2 deep and 6 1/2 tall how long would this last a juv iguana?? I guess I had more questions than I thought lol!

I would just go 6 1/2 T x 3 D x 5 L if you can pull it off. You wont have to build another one ever. On the wood its recomended to use water based polyurethane. After it dries turn the heat lamps on inside to heat it and bake the vapors out before moving your ig in.

And I would definately advise against the fish netting on the walls. Thats an accident waiting to happen.

hi yeah i agree with merlin fish net is a no go however if you provide the right size branches etc in his encloser he wont need the netting just make sure you have branches so that your iggy can get to the basking and uv lighting etc and he will be fine
