he possibly has an abscess there. If left untreated (if it is an abscess) the infection can invade his entire body.and will result in death metabolic bone disease is another possibilty as this also some times shows as brown or black spots. in either case get him to a vet as quick as pos as he will need an injection or two make sure you consult a vet that deals with reptiles good luck and keep us posted
and in the mean time be sure to bath him well and while hes in the bath fully disinfect he viv and repeat this for a couple of weeks
even after the vet has seen him also avoid as much strees to him as pos
hope this has been of help good luck and hope he makes it

I doubt that it is metabolic bone disease as it does not attck the skin. It may be some type of fungus. All I can say other than soaking is get him to a vet asap.

It does appear to be "black spot", a fungal disease that is usually the result of the igs being kept in filthy conditions. This iguana needs to see a vet NOW!

They have there slow growth periods as well as growth spurts. Did you get him to the vet?

If they are fighting off illness they won't grow as fast. Get THIS under control and then worry about growth rate.
