Just got an iguana off a neighbour kid (he's horrid with animals and happened to want a six dollar toy more than the iguana) so the iguana eats a bit, not much at all (fed him some greens and a piece of strawberry) and barely drinks (as im told thats normal) the iguana is quite small but apparently its a year old I'm positive that it was not fed properly because the boy told me exactly what he fed it (just regular salad) and how often (not much). No name yet not sure if it's a boy or a girl ill post pictures of it:

and he/she 's pretty chill, relaxed. Very used to being handled roughly =/
started moving around the tank today but then again ive only had it for two days xD (small ten-gallon at the moment)
I have two snakes with their own enclosure that was built by my step-father The iguana will probably get one too.
I take him/her out in the sun because we have no lamps yet... planning on buying reptile vitamin and different types of greens (collard, mustard, dandelion, turnip)
and working on getting a sprayer to spray water, and its very humid in FL at the moment so we plan on putting the tank out on the porch during the day.
is it weird that there have been no faeces or pee in the two days?

Ok right off the top what is going on with the tail? The tip looks bent. Keep an eye on it for discoloration, shriveling, or odor. He actually looks younger than a year, otherwise healthy but a little on the thin side. Taking him out in the sun is excellent however you need to provied a basking spot for him of 95 degrees even if its with a regular bulb, this helps with food digestion. I do not recomend leaving him out side in a glass tank. The sunlights magnifies when it passes through the glass and he will over heat, and he should never be left outside alone anyway. Also a 10 gallon is way too small even temporarily, you can not get the varied temps needed so he can thermoregulte properly. Please check out the food chart on www.greenigsociety.org and also our diet section here. Welcome to IZ!

the tip of his(her?) tail is bent and brownish and i know about the tank size but i have nothing much larger that holds heat and it is not in direct sunlight, its just out in the humidity i have an old hamster cage thats pretty big but it has a wheel attached... she's (he?) eating much better now, and moves around a lot when in the sun, inside she just kinda sits looks around and walks away while im typing xD I don't feel comfortable letting her free roam around the porch (though it is completely screened in) because it has a pool. but would it help with temp regulation if i could get something around here with a cover that is half in and half out the sun? Is the grey on her face something that could pose a problem? or is that normal colour change? UPDATE: Just bought, yucca root (how do i prepare this?) watercress, and a mango and some chopped fruits and some romaine, and i do realize it is poor in nutritional value but its just to mix in a bit.

very nice iguana looks very healthy. as for the tail there no concern as long as it don't spread. both of my iguana had that when i first got it where the very tip of the tail or kinda discolored and bent. the older one dropped the peace that was bent and grew back straight. the other one still have it. but it seem not to bother him it seem to be getting smaller as he grow. so he might end up dropping that Peace to one day.

Welcome to IZ
Looks like a great Ig. Young and very green. Feeding him the greens is great! Not sure exactly which ones are available in Florida but good direction on that. Do you have a vet in town? You should probably find one and get the Ig in for a routine deal maybe the vet can determine if the tail needs to be cut or if there is anything else going on there. Mine lost a big section at an early age. I say it gives him character. You are definitely going to have to find a larger living arrangement than that aquarium. They need plenty of space. And don't forget the UVB light. Sunlight is the best but if you can't always be with him out there the bulbs do the job for sure. As for the grey on the nose it looks like skin that is getting ready to shed..not sure if I'm looking at the right angle there. The restroom issue may be caused by stress from moving. It sounds like you are on the right track. Keep it up and you will be fine. A good vet will appreciate a fecal sample. I know that is gross but you have to make sure he is geared for herps.
