this is what I've learnt from many different sites. Right now I have him in an aquarium. I took everything out was told to soak all rock related deco's in the tank with 1 cup of bleach to 1 gallon of water. let sit for about a half an hour, rinse well numerous times. to bake all wood items in the oven at 350 for 3 hours ( I was doubtful on this, was a bit terrified since I've had a fire in my house before) but worked out, made my house smell nice lol. to do this once a week for 6 weeks ( kind of a pain but I guess you have to do what you have to do) and for three days straight then once a week for 6 weeks soak your iguana in a tub with water and betadine (enough to make the water a tea colour) it's like an iodine solution, you can buy it at any pharmacy fairly cheap then take him out and I use a q-tip because he is still small put betadine in between his spikes, in the folds under his legs in between the toes ect and it seems to have worked. no one on here seemed to help with info so I checked out MANY sites all saying pretty much the same just in different words. The only thing is if you haven't treated your iguana the mites are not gone. And a one time deal doesn't work. by you building a new enclosure, if the wood isn't treated before hand your can risk running into the same problem in the near future. I hope I've helped you, I'm learning as I go. I guess we all have to start somewhere
