This enclosure would not be for a full grown iguana but it would be good for a young iguana. A 2.5 ft square that is just under 6 ft tall doesn't give much turning space for an adult. I would definitely go bigger if you are looking for a final enclosure (which would be cheaper) but there is nothing wrong with having this enclosure for a young one

Hmm. I'm going to find one I don't have to build, but yea I am trying to find one that will last him forever . I did have a feeling the width wasn't long enought. It's ok though, thank you

Do you think that would last him a year?

yeah, I would say it would last a year No building? That part is the most fun! I had a blast building Gwen's - it was a good summer project. Sun shine, music, and building stuff - great times ;D

Idk. I'm just not good at building things, if there is an alternative of making something easier on myself I usually go with that. The bad thing here is the alternative is a lot more money, unless I find someone who makes them at a great price or decent price.

Yeah, I understand that. I've seen people make iguana enclosures out of old modified cabinets or big tv stands (what are those called?) that they got for free or cheap secondhand. Those may not be big enough for a full grown iguana but they could last a year and cost less Just throwing out ideas.

Lol, thank you for the idea. That sounds like something a redneck would do. Next weekend I'm going to start getting supplies. I have to take Snoop to WSU again or I would start this weekend. Jenna, couple questions for you. How many heat lamps and UVB lights do you have on top? What did you use for the top part so the heat lamp didn't burn through and where did you get it? I think that's it for now

I have one heat lamp, one regular light bulb, and one UVB lamp. I originally had two basking spots but she really only used one so I took the other light out. I got my heat lamp from either Lowes or Home Depot, I don't quite remember. I usually get my UVB lights from www.reptileuv.com/ but they have had a big backup lately so I got the one I currently have from a pet store. Mega-Rays from ReptileUV generally last longer and produce better quality UVB output than pet store brands like ReptiSun or Repti-Glo but the store brands are a lot cheaper (especially online). The lamps produce more focused UVB than the tubes so I would definitely recommend the lamps. I just took some pics of my setup: I originally just clamped the lights up there but one day one of them fell (and thankfully didn't break!) so I used pencils to put in between the clamps so they can't fall. Pencils aren't my ideal preference but they work great, lol Gwen decided to bunch up her towel at the bottom of the ramp This is her top shelf where I had the second basking spot but she mostly goes up there to sleep at night.

That's looks awesome! Thank you for the helpful pictures. I have trying to figure out how those clamps work. Hopefully my sister can take my dog next weekend to WSU so I can start building

It's fabric bought from Jo-Anne Fabric or some place like it and I sewed it together. Surprisingly fabric holds up well against Iguanas and their claws.
