Hello from Kansas

Just got my first iguana today..I'd been debating between getting a tegu or an iguana.Well the petstore made the decision simple..They had a single iguana in a ten gallon tank with about a dozen emaciated baby ball pythons..The ig looked very healthy though and I think it is one they took in from a person returning him because he isnt tiny like the hatchlings they usually have.
Either way i doubt he would have done well with the stress of all those snakes to deal with, assuming they didnt eat him

I know i shouldnt "rescue" a petstore animal because it perpetuates the problem but sometimes you just have too.

Anyway my son who is 12 is half owner of this little guy.Hes wanted one forever but you know thats alot to handle for a kid so we are doing this together.

Hello there! I completely understand why you brought the little guy home. I can't believe what some pet stores do! I'm glad you are helping your son take care of the iguana because they become a big responsibility pretty fast. Thanks. I do hope this little guy is healthy.We are thinking about naming him/her Kiwi but havent completely settled on the name yet..
Im hoping he will eat soon so he will poop and I can get a fecal done.
