i am going to try to adopt another iggy and needed some help from my friends. Not sure if i want a male or female although the one i am thinking about is a male. What do you think. what ever i get it will not repalce my Nozella but i have room in my heart for another green friend and a very strong NEED for a grenn friend.

Well, I have both...with the females you have to deal with egging issues and with the boys you have to deal with breeding hostility...so it depends what you want to deal with....good luck with your decision...Lyn

Hi Debbie-
So glad to hear you say that! I have a male.
Lyn laid it on the line. Male breeding aggression once a year, or egging issues once a year.
Do you have a place to adopt from. If you have a local rescue by you (not sure where that is), sometimes meeting all the Igs helps you decide, regardless of gender.
Goood luck! And as always, if you need help finding a place, let us know. We know lots of people. ;D
I'm so very excited for you!

I vote for a lady.Ladys are gentler and cuter( humans and iguanas) I m happy for you.I know you ll love your new iggy as much as you loved Nozella. It will be different, but it will cure your heart.

I'm not 100% sure of Fluffys gender, I used to call her a boy, but when I got Hunter, and compared their pores and dewlaps (Hunter was male -probed by the vet) Fluff looked more like a girl, with my experiance I like females better, males go through the whole breeding season thing, I've never experianced it myself, but stories I've heard sound AWEFUL! lol. My aunt has a male baby ig that shes trying to find a home for though, her daughter is WAY too rough with him....doesnt anyone get that igs dont want to have their nails painted?! or take bubble baths?!!? if your in Fl, he could be a possibility for you. if your intrested....?

Hi Debbie- Well you couldn't be in better hands than with TIR. So glad to hear you are using them. Are you dealing with Darry Conner? She's a friend of mine. I'm going to contact you through private e-mail. Good for you and the lucky Ig who gets you as a parent! You put a huge smile on my face with this thread!
