Neil, There are many reasons why your iguana could be staying at the bottom. (Temp, illness, gavidity etc) I can't for the life of me figure out what kind of setup you have for each iguana. It seems like this one had too high of temps and too small a cage. Do you have thermometers in there ALL the time?
Frankly you are driving me (and everyone else) crazy. Your posts are very difficult to understand, (altho this one in particular was pretty easy) and it seems like whenever we give you advice, you want to argue about it. There is all kinds of information here on IZ and at the other sites you visit. You need to READ it and FOLLOW the guidelines on how to take care of your igs!

Go to a store, about any large general store Meijer, K-Mart, Wal-Mart, Kroger... or any hardware store, and buy three thermometers for each iguana cage you have. The round kind that are about 5 inches in diameter. Mount one near the bottom, one about half way up the cage, and one within inches of the hottest basking spot the ig can get to. I did this for my cage and spent less than $10.
If the cages seem too small for three thermometers then THE CAGE IS TOO SMALL FOR AN IGUANA.
When you report back you should have six temperature readings to post. If you fudge them to sound better when you post them the only ones you are hurting are your lizards.
Also when you post clearly explain what each iguana is housed in. Get a ruler or a tape measure and give us the dimensions of each cage along with the length of the lizard and what you use for UV and heating. Post this in list form starting with the name of the ig.
Don't whine just do this, as you keep iguanas you are obligated to make sure they have proper housing.

ok speedy is about 26inches long and he/she is housed in a 90 gallen tank. It has a heat lamp no but the light is a 60 watt becouse it is so hot in my bed room the cool side is 90 and i now it is way to hot. uva/uvb but my winter i am getting 2 or 3 of them.
Spikey is about 23inches long and is housed in a 4 ft tall, by 3 ft wide, by 3 ft deep, cage. it ismade out of pvc pipe and chicken wire i am very care full whan i get her out. she has no uva/uvb like i said i'm getting 2 or 3.
she has heat lamps one light is a basking light and the watt is 150. and i have another light that is a blue zoo med light and it is a 150 light to.
But i do take the iguanas out every day i have a mateal god cage thing my sister gave me i out one in there at a time. i am out with them all time to.
the where out for 4 houses each so they got purty munch. i will have the uvb/uva before fall comes. i promis.

you didnt answer Marks question about the temps. In a cage that size I would almost guarantee that two 150 watt bulbs is making it too hot. You should have permanent thermometers in there so you can watch the temps constantly.

Post the actual temperatures.
As the summer progresses that 90 gallon fish tank will become an iguana oven even without any lamps on it. Take it apart and replace at least two sides of the glass with mesh. This is hard to do but I have done it. The only tool you need is a sharp razor knife or utility knife. Don't stop until you are confident running the back of your hand over all three edges pressing firmly.
If the ambient temperature of the room is 90F TURN OFF ALL THE LAMPS. There is no need to heat above this, in fact it will become lethal. Replace them with one 4 foot florescent tube per cage -- this will also give you the fixture now for when you buy the reptisuns this fall spreading out the cost.
When you buy the thermometers by two additional. Mount one in your room to get the ambient temp and one in the shade where you let your igs outside. If either breaks 100F you need to take measures to cool the igs when there. You are forcing a living creature to start to cook by forcing it to be in that condition, that is cruelty to which you can be held liable. Reptiles, unlike mammals, have no way of cooling them selves, save moving to a cooler location.
Post the actual temperatures and the three lengths (inches, feet, or meters) of the 90 gallon fish tank.

Kling sent me a PM that stated the temps were too high, and that he had lowered them. (still no specifics tho) **sigh**
I replied that he should never have placed the ig in the tank without first having stabilized the temerature.

Those temps look great, right out of a textbook (have to find one first I guess)
Did you run AC to your room? How did you cool it down?
