I am just curious about something. My baby ig has been staying mostly in the corner of her tank the past day and half. I've only had her for about 3 1/2 days now, and I'm just making sure she's not depressed or anything. She just lays on her stomach, facing the corner with her head almost wedged between the glass and her water bowl. Let me know what you think of it...am I just being paranoid, or should I be worried about my Camille's mood?

She is in a new place and she is trying to hide. Give her some fake plants or maybe a big cardboard box that she can get under. Something that screens her from your view. Babies like to have the security of a place to hide. As she gets older and more comfortable with her environment the behavior. should lessen

hmm, that sounds odd. u have a thermometer right, maybee she is to hot? i just got my ig about a month ago, he never layed in the corner though. i have caught him sleeping down in the corner between his water bowl and the glass a few times. is she eating? if not, she is definitly stressed or something, what size tank do you have, and what watt bulb? and does she have anywhere to climb, merlin is right to, maybee she is trying to hide.... write back im curious to know... I would have to go with Merlin on this one...
Provide some type of hide box ....babbies need to feel they can get away from prying eyes...however
you say Tank ...I assume "aquarium style " ...which are verry hard to provide any type of temperature gradiant ..
When you reach in for the Iggy ...does it become alert and try to get away from you ....?
If your Iggy dosnt become alert and just lies there and lets you pick it up ...it could be sick.
If it is eating well and is alert to you but just seems to like to hide in the corner ...it is more likley it just needs time to become adjusted and a hide box of some type will be appreciated...
I would also keep up on a daily bath ...and frequent mistings from a spray bottle to controll heat ..the misting will help to provide some better thermoregulation for your babie.....
Hope this helps

My iguana spends all day just about on his hammock under his heatlamp. He'll venture out to explore his log which often has his food on top, his water bowl sometimes he'll lounge there. but he pretty much ignores the other side ofh is tank. I've had him almost for 2 months now. He's active but lounges a lot. Which I haven't read as a bad thing. He'll get his jumpy moods and run around sometimes.

Yes...it's aquarium style. She isn't sick, because she is eating fine, and she hasn;t even LET me pick her up yet, so yea...she becomes alert when I put my hand in for anything. So I took some advance...didn't have a box of any kind, so I put in a piece of furniture that my anoles used to use, but won't anymore...it's a stone-henge looking thing with leave coming off of it...with it placed next to her log, she'll be able to hide in it, that is...once she moves out of the corner to take a look...probably right now, while I'm not home. Thanks people. I appreciate the help...now, back to class. I'll be back on here in probably an hour and a half...see you then if anyone's on.
