It was time for Willie's slurry. I took him out of his enclosure with my hands and forearms covered and wrapped him in a towel on our way backing out of his place. I sat where I always sit to feed him. Then he scared me to death. He lay back, both eyes closed and his head resting on my chest. I was afraid I was watching him die. Tried to give him his slurry, with no response from him. THEN..... I got it!
The last several days I've been playing special meditative music on the CD player in my pc. Will has loved all except the Gyoto Monks.( I think that's an acquired taste) Today I was playing the 'Singing Bowls of Tibet'. He loves this one and it had been playing a good 1/2 before I tried to feed him. He was in a deep trance from the music. It wasn't that he was asleep, because he didn't 'wake up' I turned the music off and called him out of his trance slowly. I began to unwrap him gingerly. When his eyes were open and he looked 1/2 way with it, he begin to taste his slurry and in a few minutes, he enjoyed it as usual..
It was incredible to me for my testosterone-loaded little ig to lay his head on my chest and rest with his eyes closed like a little baby would do. Another moment with Will I won't forget.

That is too insanely precious! What a picture that would have been! Meditative music is great for all kinds of beasties and humans. We use Native American to go to sleep by...

Yes, Prism. Music can have such a calming effect. The news is making me nuts these days. I can't watch any more. So I'm listening to calming music now. And Will does love it. I had some more Hindu chants (beautiful) on awhile ago. Will was entranced. Hardly moved for the longest time as I held him. I'm glad he and I enjoy the same kind of music I would love Native American music too. Just don't have any.
