I know i've read lots on this before but until your iggy starts doing it you really have no clue whats going on.
Fawker just recently started sneezing. Actually right around mid-fall, my girlfriend was determined to tell me it was a cold, even after I showed her what the sneezing was all about.
However, even I'm not sure what brought it on. On the days I am home he usually sneezes 2-3 times a day atleast. I read that it is just their way of expelling salt from their system, However as far as I know I don't really feed him anything with a large amount of sodium content. Is there anything else that could bring this on? Perhaps a symptom of some illness? Or is it a good sign that he is sneezing?

Make sure you don't see thick mucous around his nostrils or hear any rattling respiration. Is his appetite good? Usually if they are suffering from an upper respiratory infection, they won't eat well. I'm sure the senior board members will have more on this for you as well. If i am ever in doubt though, to the vet Narcy goes. . .once they start showing signs of being ill, it can be pretty well along.

Nope, as long as you don't see the signs of a respiratory infection like Diane described, sneezing is a perfectly normal thing and a sign of a healthy iguana. Frequent sneezing is not a good sign, but 2 or 3 times during the day shouldn't be anything to worry about, as long as he doesn't rattle/gurgle when he breathes and there isn't a constant oozing from his nostrils. There's more salt in much of his food than you might think. He needs some to keep his vital organs functioning properly (Not saying you should salt his food though ), especially his heart, what he doesn't use ends up as white spots on everything he has been near. When you build his enclosure, make sure you stock up on paper towels and glass cleaner. ;D But, since he's a free-roamer at the moment, there's a good chance he might not be warm enough for sufficient periods to bring about a respiratory infection. Let us know if you notice any of the other symptoms.

Welcome to the wonderful world of SNALT! Just part of being an ig slave, usually manifested immediately upon cleaning the glass on the front of the enclosure! And just wait till you get it full in the face! As the others have said if all else seems normal then I wouldn't worry too much. Just watch for the afore mentioned symptoms.

Oh...I should add that 2 or 3 times per hour isn't at all out of the ordinary either.
