For a while now, Kyo has been giving "good morning" head bobs to us and to Charlie, the leopard gecko.
This morning, Charlie and I got our normal bobs, and then I got a "shudder-bob". Kyo shook his head quickly side to side, and bobbed at the same time, then stopped for a moment and went into a normal bob. His body was relaxed, back legs extended back along his tail, raised on front legs.
What is this all about?

The shudder-bob usually means he's getting irritated about something. Igs often do this without going into full scare mode just as a "I'm not in a good mood" gesture.

I agree its definately a "and just what do you think YOU are going to do?" warning? When they do that it's a good idea to keep an eye on them if you intend to handle.

If his enclosure has glass walls, he may have seen a "trespassing" ig and just wanted to send out a warning.

I did just put up his plexiglass window on one side, but I think this was directed at me. He did it twice again after that first one, and when I went in to change his water, etc, he got all huffy and handed me a nice view of his tail, all ready to go. He has never done that before.
One more thing. I know that a color change sometimes goes along with breeding season, but some of Kyo's spikes are turning a pinkish orange color. The rest of him is still a beautiful green.
Is this normal?

Perfectly normal. Depending on the ig the color change could be nearly non-existant to the whole body pumpkin-phase.

Narcy becomes very orangey all over during season, and it becomes even more brilliant when he is aggravated (or is it aroused. . .can't really tell with an iguana eh?) Narcy was just a little off at first, kinda twitchy. . .then he just took to leaping at me!!

Thank you Diane! Now I don't feel so crazy! I feel like I'm being stalked! Kyo lays on his basking shelf, and just stares at me. Then he'll come over and try like crazy to get thru the screen by where I am sitting.
Now that he wants to come out, I'm almost afraid to let him because I don't know what he'll do. When I go in there, I make my husband go too, to watch my back, lol.
He's a little beast one minute, and a darling the next!

Ja, when they are in season don't turn your back on them. Narcy understood when my back was turned. if i faced him the entire time he would circle me doing his 'hatchet walk' i could hold him at bay. the few times at the beginning of his first season that i DID turn my back, he instantly charged me full force. and he is big enough that i could hear him coming! scary thing that! Hopefully Kyo's season will pass and he will be sweet again. . .I have never gotten my sweet Narcy back Good luck!

Be extra careful during your menstrual cycle. Male igs are especially in tune with this time. Zair gets extra cuddly with me...well...not cuddly, but he does get clingy. Some women have to completely turn over the ig care to someone else during the moon phase... . It's not really funny though...this is a time to be extra aware.
