first he was biting at me when I would pet him, now when I pet him he turns around and nibbles his tail??? Im begining to wonder if there is something mentaly wrong with him. he does some very strange things. Like when hes shedding he will eat his own skin.

Lots of lizards eat their own skin...even greens. He maybe lacking a some protein plant matter. Do you use alfalfa in his diet?

normally we feed alfalfa but we didnt get any this week. I knew my Leos eat thheir shed. I guess im just being silly. But since Cleo got those abscesses Im being more carefull and trying to make any changes that are needed that I hadnt noticed before.

Well...if it makes you feel any better...I have heard of other igs biting at their own tails and they were fine. It's not super common, but I have heard of it...:-D

Well that makes me feel better. I guess maybe his personality, and behaviors are changing as he matures? Im guessing he is very close to being a year old now. we have had him for 8 months now and he was already a couple months old when we got him.

so far he hasnt bit himself hard enough, maybe it is itchy. Looks like its getting ready to shed. I worry too much

I worry too much Not at all! Questioning unusual behavior is a good thing! It may be the first sign telling you that something is wrong.
