Few hours ago as I was cleaning the appartment... "Where did Neelix go?"
I search everywhere and the window was slightly open, just enough for an iguana. I look outside and there he was just relaxing on the hot balcony, basking in the sun. I just about had a heart attack. Usually I keep with window locked and closed because Neelix learned how to open doors and windows. All the closet doors slide open and all the windows slide open horizontally. Every morning he tries to get into the bedroom closet. He puts he claws on the edge of the door panel and "scratches" sideways. He does the same thing with the windows.
I'm going to have to take away his roaming priveleges.
He also for some reason likes licking the base of fans. Doesn't matter if they are plastic or metal, He'll spend a solid ten minutes tasting them if given the chance.

Zair knows how to open sliding things, too...and opening doors that aren't latched. There was a good idea on doors having an automatic closing device, but with sliders you might just want to use blocks (or braces made specifically for windows for child proofing).
Hmmm...licking fan bases. That's a new one...;-)

Yup, Herc opens doors all the time, including the sliding closet doors.

Thank god mine aren't big enough to do that yet. If i lost one of mine i'd flip out, it's amazing how you grow close to something that use to be a wild thing, and in there own way they grow fond of us as well. I think its the coolest thing.
