I know cat food is supposed to be bad for iguanas, but she's managed to sneak a few bites on several occasions. I always stop her and will probably be moving the cat food, but the few mouthfuls she's had won't doom her to kidney disease, will they?
The weird thing is she goes right for it after a walk outside. Maybe I'll find some similar looking commercial iguana food to supplement her meals with.

Kling is right. Commercial food is not healthy for the iguana, and the cat food certainly isn't. A few mouthfuls won't doom her, but if you let it continue...... You should definately move the catfood. If she is going for it after an outside excursion, have a green healthy snack ready for her instead.

There in lies the problem in the "a little animal protein won't hurt them" debate. Nobody knows exactly how much is too much and at what point it becomes harmful. The best way to be sure is to not allow it at all.

Well, I ended up moving the cat food. She's where it used to be right now seeming very confused. Must have tasted good.
Cats found it alright though.

Good that you moved it. Better to be safe than sorry.
