Darkluvr, Welcome to IZ. And, NO, absolutely no meat. These guys are strict vegetarians, have a look at the diet section for the proper foods for him. Also, no dog food or anything else not made for him/her.

Meat...and any animal proteins is deadly for iguanas. Their kidneys are not designed to breakdown proteins in those massive amounts and eventually leads to renal failure. They are built to process plant proteins only. The diet guide will show you everything you need in good foods to keep your iguana healthy.

It is defintely NOT ok to feed ANY meat or animal protein to a green iguana. As Prism_Wolf explained, their bodies are not equipped to deal with animal protein. I understand how confusing it can be, because there is quite a large amount of false information about them. Please have a look at the diet section here...it will give you ideas as to what is and isn't good for iguanas. As already suggested, please buy one or both of the iguana-safe books that were recommended: "Green Iguana, The Ultimate Owner's Manual" by James Hatfield, and "Iguanas for Dummies" by Dr. Melissa Kaplan.

Thats the problem with websites. Any twelve year old with a computer can throw one up! Also there are species of iguana that are omnivorous, just not the green iguana! Absolutely no meat! At one time it was believed, based on one researcher's assumption, that iguanas in the wild consumed meat. Back in the 70's we were told to feed them dog food and mice and bugs! We couldn't figure out why an animal that should live for 20-30 YEARS was only survivning 5-6 years in captivity. Then we learned that the very diet we were advised to feed them was in effect killing them.
