i went out & did what mark said i got the reptisun 5.0. but i have a couple of more ? when i got up he was laying on the heat rock but i cut the cord is that because he was use to it the temp in my cage 90 0n the top 80 in the middle 77 on the bottom the cage is 59 in high 25 in wide louie is 3 years old is about a foot long i have been feeding him everything on the chart. the other ? i have do i need some heat for night time. thank for every bodys help you guy&gals are the best

HI, Your temps sound good...did you say he is only a foot long and he is 3 yrs old...does that include his tail? That is very tiny for an ig...What are you feeding him? let us know so we can further help you...He very well may be laying on the heat rock because he is used to it...do you happen to have any pics of his cage? OOps for got to add, night heat...if your house stays above 70, then its not necessary...I do not use night heat for my igs at all...some people do, but my electric bill is high enough...lol I have 5 adults and its a lot of fun...Lyn

haha, i was thinking the same thing. my ig is about 7 months old. he is 17 in long.

This definitely sounds small if we're talking full length.
There are two lengths iguana slaves go by: svl - snout-vent length measures from the tip of the nose to the top part of the back that is equal to where he poops from the bottom.
stl - snout-tail length measures just what it says...tip of the snout to the tip of the tail.
The temps could be a little higher in the basking area. Between 92-96 gives optimal temps for food digestion. Just don't let it get below 90.
