A digital hygrometer would be much better. The kind you have in the pic is subject to all kinds of mechanical problems, just like the mechanical thermometers made by the same company. There are several available that are sold as "Digital Indoor/Outdoor temperature and Hygrometer", which I think would be perfect for an iguana keeper. There is one temp probe on the display unit itself, and another remote temp probe at the end of a long wire. This can give you temps in your hot and cool zones, and the hygrometer will show you humidity, all in one digital display that you can stick somewhere in the cage where you can read it.

Lowe's or Home Depot...in their garden section has good digital ones...they're indoor outdoor so they don't wear out so fast in the humidity and what your iguana occasionally deposits on them!! plus the batteries last for months..

You'll find several styles to choose from. This is the one I use pretty exclusively. They last awhile and have been subject to very abusive conditions from time to time. Just don't slip with a staple gun and go through the probe wire... .
