I was wondering if wood would be good to use in an ig cage. With my last ig I put some wood in her cage and she got mites. I'm planning to get a new ig and I'v been thinking about the wood problem. I'm just worried that if I get another ig and use wood the ig will get mites again. please help

I have half a tree in my viv and have never had a real mite problem! We sealed all the bits up in bin bags and sprayed them lots with mite spray.
One problem Ive noticed though recently is that its starting to crack with the heat in there. We will be moving soon and will either get a new tree or build ramps etc.

Wood can be baked, or soaked in bleach water to get rid of any existing insects.
Technically it's best to use things in the enclosure that can be disinfected easily and regularly...... (but I use wood) ;D
