Well today I found two large blisters on Bob's left side. Right on the body, closer to the head than the tail. The large one was about the size of a dime (~1cm diameter) and the other was about half the size, both were puffed out about three millimeters.
To my surprise my vet clinic is not only open today but Dr. Doug was in. Within 30 minutes of finding the blisters Bob was being seen by the vet, man I love being within one light of where you need to be.
The blisters were filled with a clear thin liquid amber in colour. A sample is being sent to a lab and a few smears were made on slides; the cause is yet unknown though.
I was given two meds for it but don't have them in front of me.
This was an expensive hour though. With the regular visit, lab work, and meds it totaled over $200. Gotta sell a couple cages now. I have to say that squirreling away some money for this reason would be a very good idea.

I'm curious as to what the fluid might be. I haven't heard of anything like that.
I have a vet account that $10 a week automatically goes into. It does come in very handy! When I sell e-bay items, that also goes in there.

Neither have I! Please let us know what you find out. As if you wouldn't!

This is the second time that Bob has had blisters like this. The first time they were much smaller but did not apper over night like this, these literally were not there 24 hours ago. The vet at the time was not really qualified with herps but cleared up Bob, this guy is MUCH better.
I am setting up myself to sell cages right now. That money will be ear marked for vets, ig food, and the like. I have finished a prototype cage (4x4x6) which I just took clear pics of which will go on my webpage. This particular cage is now being posted for sale on other forums.

Good luck with your sales, Mark. I know vet bills can be large! I'll be very interested in what those blisters are.

Lab results expected back Tuesday or Wednesday.
The oral med that Dr Doug gave me is Cefa Drops. I am supposed to give him 2cc's 2X daily. The stuff smells just like orange Cool Aide and Bob did not give too much of a struggle when giving it this morning.
There were no new blisters today and when weighted at the vets he was 9 oz heavier than when we were in back in August.

IN a full-grown ig...that's a lot at over 1/2 a pound. After 7 yrs they stop growing in length and just go into adding bulk...which is what Bob is doing... ;D
