Because he has MBD this could have happened by just running. His bones are extremely brittle right now. This may sound very uncomfortable...and it probably is, but one way to immobilize an iguana's leg is to stretch it out along side the tail and tape it. Take all climbing things out of the enclosure...bring the lights down lower and keep him at ground level until he recovers. He may get a little pissy...but many vets actually use this to immobilize fractures because casts and splints can easily be made too tight. I had an ig when I was a teenager who lost his leg from a cast that was too tight. Use the wrapping tape that sticks to itself. If you don't have any...it's a good time to add this to your new iguana first aid kit... ;D.

AH...sorry. I'm still getting your beasties straight...BUT...because Iggy has not had UVB then it's very possible MBD is a factor there, too. You've had the blue light which provides no UVB and igs can get MBD with no outward signs for a long time.

Iggy has a reptisun tube so MBD is not likely. and my husband said Iggy made a pretty far jump the other day so that must be how he injured himself. I hope he just strained his leg and didnt break it. poor guy looks hilarious with his leg taped to his tail, it doesnt seem to bother him being taped up but then he is pretty easy going and tolerates alot, while Cleo is a bit of a of a b***h, and Loki well I dont trust him a bit though he cant do any damage right now

O.K...I'm trying to keep up here. Bare with me...
Loki - newest ig with MBD. Trying for attitude, but to sick to do anything serious.
Cleo - A bit testy, but healthy...has had UVB.
Iggy - A flying lizardo who may have launched beyond his safety net - also had UVB.
How many UVB tubes do you use...how big are they...and how old are they?

Iggy has 1 tube to himself its a 5.0 I think and its longer than his whole body and its due to be changed in the next 2 months. we are doing daily doses of natural sun a couple times a day untill we can get all the lighting situated

Natural sun will be great...for the rest of the warm season actually. If you can get at least 4 hours of sun weekly (spacing it to daily sessions) then all your greenies will have what they need without having to use a UVB source until the weather gets bad again. This will give you a chance to space your new bulbs out to two 48" bulbs per ig every month so you're not socked with a big light bill at once...of course...many places have discounts if you buy in bulk...usually at least a case. Getting the 48" ones now will guarantee the right size...especially for when they're full-grown. The tubes are strongest in the middle.
...or...you can purchase the merc vapors. This is one bulb in a ceramic socketed clamp lamp. These are, by far, a better deal. They produce more UVB and you have to purchase them only once a year instead of every 6 months...which will save you money in the long run. They cost as much as two fl. tubes, but it's instead of four fl. tubes per ig a year at approx. $35 a pair ($70 a year)...you will spend $35-$40 a year for one merc. vapor a year. My personal favorite is a little more than that, but you can purchase the T-Rex 100W active heat bulbs, or the Mega Ray SB and have an Excellent bulb with a UVB/heat combo.
