It all depends on the vet. They can structure their fees very differently from each other. Bring a towel so you can cover her face so she can't see who is restraining her. She may not hold it against you, but iguanas have good memories for some things, especially if it was unpleasant.

Hopefully the Baytril will work. Keep your eyes on this closely...as I know you will.
I have some reasons for concern and it might be a good thing for the vet to know. I haven't said anything before now because I didn't want you to worry anymore than you already are. I had gone to an awful reptile living museum a few years back. The iguanas there had these spots like Cleo did, but all over. One iguana came in with it...it was highly contagious and wiped out the entire group of iguanas living together in less than a year. I will try to find out what the guy called it, but for the life of me I can't remember right now. Maybe your vet will. These igs had surgeries to remove these cysts and they kept coming back. Many had holes in the dsewlaps from the surgeries. He did NOT practice good quarantine practices...at all..or the other igs would have survived. I will make it a goal this weekend to find out. If I can't find it it's not for lack of trying for sure.
While you have Cleo on Baytril use a probiotic everyday. The med will kill the beneficial gut flora while it kills the infection...:-)

I hope its nothing that serious. He was sure they are abscesses. He accidentally sqeezed out a tiny drop of ooze from the one lump, and explained how their pus is a more solid form than humans. he also said that something as simple as her accidentally digging a claw into her dewlap could have caused the abscesses. I cant imagine having to have her dewlap removed or even part of it. She was so good today, she behaved so well for the vet. I was worrid that she would bite or whip him. so I gave her a bite of wheat bread for a treat when we got home. Im glad you reminded me about the probiotics, Ill get some. let me know what you find out. thanks

Actually...yes he should have...and showed you how to do it at home. It wouldn't have taken much do either.

UPDATE! How are the lumps doing? Are they going away? Have you called the vet back to see if he would like to clean out the abscess? Have you thought about using another vet?

Right now the lumps are shrinking, but they probably wont totally go away on their own, we are going to look for a new vet on Monday, Im worried that the other one will want to cut off her dewlap. Cleo is looking good eating well and being her normal crazy self. Ill try to post some pics later

That's good they're shrinking...and they might very well go away all the way. We can only hope so anyway. Glad to hear she's doing so well though...:-)
