I am looking for an easier but cheap alternative for cleaning my ig-poop tub and bath tub.
So far I have been using a bleach and water solution with a toilet brush (only used for the ig house) and I mix the bleach each time I need it. Having the liquid in a small bucket gets sloppy though.
Do you guys think that mixing the bleach solution in a (well marked) spray bottle would be a good idea and still effective? If so what would the rough mixture be that you use?
Are there any other ideas for solutions and cleaning tools?

Hi Mark- I use a 10:1 water:bleach solution in a CLEARLY marked spray bottle. The best tool I've found to use is called a wife. They come in a variety of styles and sizes. Some are better than others, but all seem to work effectively. I found mine on the internet. But I've seen them in bars and clubs too. ;D Good luck!

I don't know which way to go with this.
I can't laugh too hard as I am sitting in class right now and don't want to draw the prof's attention (only 15 of us in here) but I like it.
The closest I have come is a girl friend that helped hold Bob's tail while I held him up and the vet tech snipped stitches from his belly after a bladder stone operation.
But then again you screwed my topic over and my question will never be answered.
I wonder if I could get my roommate to do it. Hmm. He agreed to living with Bob sight unseen, even to Bob freeroaming but I am going to cage Bob so Jeff does not have to ig proof his side. But he is one of the OCD cleaning nuts -- I have left my laptop sitting in his room and he cleaned it for me just because the screen was dusty and it was sitting out.

Hey Wait a second, I'm an OCD cleaning nut! Hmph! Sorry Mark, I didn't intend to "screw" your post or question. I did answer you with my method of cleaning (it's the "others" who neglected to answer it ). I use a 10:1, Water:Bleach solution kept in a CLEARLY marked spray bottles. When Rex is finished and out of the bath, we simply spray the tub down with the solution, scrub it with a scrub brush or paper towels and then rinse with hot water. There are solutions on the market that are more eco-friendly. I could search out a few links out for you to make up for "screwing" your post, if you are interested. Let me know. BTW everyone, Tammy read the post and burst out laughing. You all have "issues". Up the meds, see a doc, but leave your estrogen rages at home. As an OCD cleaner myself, my bet is that he'll only have to see the Ig in the bath one time and the tub will be kept clean and disinfected forever without you even knowing it. Now, get off the computer and pay attention in class! Geez, when I went to school you had a choice, stare out the window or pay attention. None of this cool tech stuff was even out yet!

Hi Mark- Here's a link to Anapsid that gives very thorough info. Hope it helps and hope I'm forgiven. www.anapsid.org/cleaning.htmlMy wife informs me that unless there is poop, the spray, wait 15-20 mins, rinse method works just fine.

Ok Tesa I'll behave! Mar, I use the 1/10 bleach solution myself. That is pretty much standard for cleaning up after animals. The bleach will over time tend to eat up the spray parts of the bottle but nothing too drastic. Do make sure the bottle is well marked. Another thing is the surface needs to be wiped clean of anything organic before you disinfect it. You can't just spray poop and it disinfect it. When you spray let it sit at least 10 minutes before you rinse.

For pooping I (Spyro) use cat toilet filled with water. Once a day i put Spyro in that toalet, she poops, and i throw that "soup" in the toilet, put a few drops of antiparasite antiseptic liquid and rinse it. She never poop in her tank.

The spray bottle is working well so far. Seems to be covering better than pouring it over the tubs and uses less bleach.
Everyone here has a laptop, Rose-Hulman was the first school to force students to buy a laptop for classes, and we start IMing and playing cards online during boring classes.
