Just moved Eddie into her new cage last night. We put the entire old cage into the new one so she could have a place to go that would be familiar. This morning, she wouldn't move so I had to pick her up and place her on her basking shelf so she could warm up. So far, so good, she seems happy. I will try to post a pic, but probably won't work. Can't see much detail to the inside but the outer shell looks cool. Any way you can make it a wee bit bigger? I'd like to see the inside too

Hard to get a good picture because the thing is huge. Also I have dial up so loading photos takes forever but here goes... i152.photobucket.com/albums/s169/rybsunrise/critters097.jpgsorry, had to make it a link....this is the top half of the inside, with lots of green and lots of climby things. She likes to hide in the tree below her basking shelf. The cage is a corner unit with a half hex front. The inside floor space is about 13 sq feet. It's in the living room, so we wanted it to look nice. My husband is quite talented when it comes to building things.

I like it! I would remove that peice of chain and replace it with a rope though. That would be a good place to get a toe caught. I would also construct a reflector to direct more of the light down. You are losing a lot of the light up to the ceiling.

It is still in the tweaking stage. I will be adjusting for some time yet. I will change the chain to rope, and will figure out a way to put a reflector on the uvb lights. Hubby complains that they keep him awake when he naps on the couch, so I am thinking of putting blinds up as well.

VERY super awesome!! I really like it, too. If you used some polished aluminum and folded it into a gentle curve so it aims more into the basking spot, you would reduce the shine leading into the room (and bothering dh...;-D) while at the same time using the shine of the aluminum to increase the amount of UVB directed at the basking area. To achieve the best effect for this would be to remount the lights attaching them to the top of the cage instead...:-)
