will it b ok to spray paint the pvc pipe black?
what is the best thing to use at the bottom of the cage cuz i want it deep at the bottom and i have no idea what to do at the bottom

As long as you use a water-based paint then you can paint it whatever color you want...:-) They also sell black pipe, but it's a lot more expensive. Just let the paint air really well. As for the bottom of the cage, you can still use the mesh on the bottom, but then line it with linoleum which will add a little support. You could also use a piece of thin plywood with 4-5 layers of water-based polyurethane.

If you paint it make sure to prep it well. Scrub the pipes down with a scourging pad. If you dont it's just going to flake off when the Ig scratches it.

It'd probably be best just to leave it white. Most paints that you can buy at the home improvement store are probably not going to give you results that you'll be happy with in the long run. If you want it to be black, then you can go with the more expensive ABS pipe that V mentioned. Its been a while since I have done any plumbing though, so I don't remember if you can get ABS pipe in the smaller diameters.
