Going from a 10 gallon to a homemade cage, is it big enough for my two babies, right now anyway? [/img]

Just estimating from the pic, its barely big enough for your two babies. But, its definitely a HUGE step up from a 10-gallon aquarium. You should start planning and saving for an adult-sized habitat right away, because you'll be amazed at how quickly these guys grow. Also, since you have 2 of them, you should plan on two enclosures. Things tend to get violent among multiple igs when they get older. Sometimes they can successfully coexist, but more often they cannot. Anyway, just something to keep in mind.

k, i'll do that, I do know that it could hold atleast "8" 10 gallon aquariums, it sucks that they might not get along when they get older. But i suppose that's it's like that with just about anything. Thanks for the info.

No problem. Its true that you run the risk of any two animals not getting along, but with igs its pretty much in their genetic code. They were never meant to be social animals, but some can adapt to that behavior. I have two adult iguanas that are actually getting along just fine now, but this wasn't without my female almost losing her life. My male iguana, Hercules, is very mild-mannered, but he was very aggressive toward Audrey in the first year they lived under the same roof. He attacked and tried to kill her the day they were introduced, and then got along OK after months of supervised contact. Then, one day, Herc almost DID kill her. It cost more than $500 at the vet to save her life and a further year for her to recover from her injuries. That was only because I was right there in the next room when it happened and intervened in time. If I hadn't been home, Audrey would have died. These days, Audrey is much bigger and tougher, and she's aggressive toward Herc when she needs to be. She actually has him a bit hen-pecked at this point, so its working. But don't take that as a typical example, because the unfortunate fight to the death is MUCH more common.

Make SURE you have two totally separate basking areas. This is extremely important if your going to try to keep them together. Iguanas start survival behavior while they are still babies. There is no love between clutch mates...:-(

Do have second cage built, and they seem more happy. I think they like having all that room to themselves to!!!

;D ;D Yeah it took us 4 hrs total to do both cages, but we made sure it got done. They both are huge. I can't wait untill my babies get bigger, and we can make bigger cages. It was really fun to do, and I know in there own way Missy and Scooter appreciates them.

I tried to house 2 Igs together and it did NOT work. Its at a point now where they can not even be in the same room now. Hades will stalk Iggy and try to bite Iggy if he can get close enough. We have to keep all 3 of ours seperated at all times. (we also have a 2 or 3 month old baby Ig)

Yeah scooter went after Missy, so i learned my lesson. That's one of the reasons why we built a second cage. I didn't want them to get hurt.
