looks real good, you can really see how big that thing is in last pic, took me a sec to even find the ig. He should get alot of use out of this, and enjoy it alot. How much did all materials cost and how many hours of labor?

The materials cost me about $700 ish. If I was smarter, then it would have probably been less then $500. I also went a little extreme in some cases that weren't necesarry.

THAT took a long time to load! Please resize your pictures a bit more for those that use dial-up...like me... . Looks like that size will last a little while. I do hate to tell you this, though...it's going to need to be longer. Right now Rusty is living a a phone booth. The enclosure for a full-grown adult needs to be no less than 5' long. The small thermometer you have a hugely inaccurate. You might want to think about replacing it with a digital indoor/outdoor style. What are those really big chunks of food in there?

Well the good thing about it is that I can easily add length to it. Being so big, I had to make it in two pieces so I could get it out of the room it's in. It would be no problem to add another couple feet to it. As it stands right now now it is 4.5x4.5x7. The thermometer that is in there was temporary because my good one broke. Even tough that one is innacurate, it will still tell me if there is a large temperature change. the chunks of food are shredded butternut squash i believe. when I put it in the refer, it gets smashed into chunks, but it breaks apart easily.
Lax, the reason it cost so much is the tile on the bottom and up the back, and also the texture and paint. See the whole point was to build a cage that was a nice piece of furniture that I could put in any room without it looking like a wood and chicken wire cage.
