Thrasher doesn't do any "tricks", but after her first vet visit when the doc had to pry her mouth open, I taught her to let me do this...Here are some pics of our other scaly critters. First, Mr. Waggles, named so because he's a weirdo and likes to hang upside down and wag his tail like a dog. He is a club-tailed iguana. And this is my son Chris (5) and our Mali Uromastyx, Sandy. (His hair looks weird/wet cause he had just come inside from a water gun fight.) ;D

I taught her to let me do this... I WISH Iggi would let us do that!! When she gets gravid, we try to keep her as hydrated as possible, and increase her calcium suppliment. I wish I could have squirted water, and pureed turnip greens with calcium into Iggi's mouth. I would have made the ordeal more bearable. Ig_mommy insists that she eat every day, and poop every day.

Hey Tesa, that is really cool that she will allow you to do that. we had to pry open Iggy's mouth when he was sick and give him meds and he really really did not like it at all. but that is how it goes. Being able to open her moth like that just shows how much she trusts you. You little lizards are really cute. I also have never heard of a dwarf spiny tailed Iggy...but he is really cute. will he get much bigger? And what is the life span for the little fellow? Debbie Iggy Bam-Bam and Miss Zak.

Actually he is a Club-Tailed iguana,( they fit into the spiny tail category.) He will only get about 16 inches total length and hopefully live for around 15 years.

Debbie, with the gravid thing goin on right now I'm REALLY glad she will let me do this. It makes getting extra fluid/calcium into her MUCH easier! ;D

Zair lets me do the syronge thing too. I get down about 5cc's a couple times a week for added hydration. He's so good about it. He also likes drinking out of the misting bottle. I set on stream and I squirt to the rythym of the licks... ;D.
Tesa...I LOVE the Uro! I will have one one day when my menagerie gets a little more manageable...until then...I'll just have to look at your photos...and drool over them in the petstores.

V- That's how I ended up with the Uro. I drooled over him at the pet store a few too many times. ;D If you get a small one it won't take up much space. They grow slowly and are really easy to take care of. ;D **nudge nudge**
