Most people have trouble determining the gender of their iguana. It's not easy! Prism_Wolf had a great pic of male femoral pores and hemipenal bulge. The second photo was taken by Ursula to demonstrate female femoral pores. Thankyou ladies!! [Edit: Pictures coming soon!]

How old do they have to be before those pores show?

About 1 1/2 yrs. old...give or take a couple of months. The pores are there now, but the male characteristics won't show until that age.

My iguana, who is about 5 months, has very definitive femoral pores, but I can't really tell what sex type of pores they are. When do the hemipenal bulges first show up? what about the fat bumps behind the head?

Both males and females havve the femoral pores, males just get larger. At the age yours is you are looking at around a year before we could take a reasonably guess. And even then they can fool you.
