Hi, im Andy, im 22, and I live in Wisconsin. I have been lurking around here a few months doing some research. I have been wanting to get an ig for a while now but not from a pet store and I didnt want one that was already grown up. Just yesterday i saw an ad in the paper. Called the number and he is perfect. He was turned into the pet store that owner works at cause he was abused (kid whipped him around by the tail and what not). The pet store wouldnt take him cause he is missing two toes on his back left leg, so she took him. Now they are moving and cant keep him. I get him on monday, he is a year old seemed very friendly when I held him (very relaxed). It was meant to be cause all my friends call me sloth and he only has three toes on the one foot hence the sloth name. I'll shut up now and get some pics of him after I get him.

Welcome to the Zone! How much research have you done into the husbandry requirements of an ig?

I've been on here and a few other sites reading on and off for about 4 months now. I got his diet planned out and he has a custom made 5x3 1/2x3 1/2 but im gonna start planning a bigger one even though he can still fit in the palm of my hand (14-16 in. head to tail). Found an exotic pet vet in town as well. I will probably have a ton of pics after I get him. ;D ;D ;D

Welcome to the Zone, and congratulations. ;D but im gonna start planning a bigger one even though he can still fit in the palm of my hand (14-16 in. head to tail Once you get him all set up with the proper lights, heat, and diet....and with the good weather coming on, you will be shocked at how fast he will grow. I got my Drako last April, and he grew an average of 3 inches a month all summer and fall. He was 18" STL when I got him, now he is about 40" STL (need to measure him this weekend) STL = Snout to Tail Legnth SVL = Snout to Vent Legnth

Welcome Sloth!!! ;D I'm glad you have been lurking here before bringing an iguana into your home. It sounds like you already have a nice home for the little guy and also realize that he'll need an even bigger one in the future. Like Lyn said, we would LOVE to see pics of your baby and his home.

I think this is wonderful! Poor guy has been so mistreated. I hate to hear stories of cruelty, but now he's safe from harm and I'm sure you'll give him your best. BTW I like the three toed connection. . Welcome to IZ

Welcome Sloth! It's so sad to hear stories od mistreated animals of any kind. I'm thankful this little guy will be in good hands now. Please let us know if you have ANY questions no matter how "small" they may seem. Welcome to IZ!
