LOL...sounds like he's a lucky ig having someone with an ultimate green thumb. A hint...the UVB bulbs you change out every 6 months can be used for growing wonderful indoor gardens! Before we start on a list...quick question:
How do you provide proper heat gradients, UVB and humidity for your free-roamer?
To make it easy...I'm going to offer you some links to sites that have safe plants/veggies/flowers and all you need to do is choose. The lists are way to long to type out.
there are like 9 flouresent bulbs that light all day they through a little heat and a lotta light but if he chooseses there are several plant\trees he can browse behind for shade as for consetrated heat he ha a heat rock surrounded by pebbles witch a figured would be altimite for him i will check the links you said to and hopefully find some other plants safe for him to browse through....beeing as ive only had carlos for several months and he is my first iguana any imformation would be great, any tips\hints ....anything
Igs also need very specific temps. Fluorescents do not emit much heat so you need to provide proper overhead heat that includes a basking area of 92-96 degrees.
Specifically what brand of fluorescents are they? Regular shop lights do not provide UVB and with 9 of them around the place...that would be very costly. If you didn't pay over $100 for your lighting...you don't have the right lights.
ok imma go buy some things and i will talk to yall soon...all yeah as for the person that said how far are the light away from iguana, it really vary he climbs does whut ever he cant really touch tha light yanno but can get close or far away thank you every one for helping me. feel free to contact me or whutever with help im going on common sense and iguanas aint really common
yea, knowing how far away from your little guy would be nice, and what do you feed him now? what brand of bulbs do u use? any vitamins or extras given to him? and i agree, get rid of the heat rock, they are bad for them! severe burns are horrible on the little guys. do you do anything for humidity?
