Hi i have just taken in an injured male adult iguana, as he fell from the top of the cage he was kept in a good seven feet, loosing about a foot of his tail, there is still a good six inches of shrivelled tail to come off, i have been cleanin the area and applying iodine to prevent any infection, doesnt look narcrotic, is dry and has no offinsive smell and doesnt seem too bother denver, apart from the end of the tail being a bit rigid when he is turning, please could anyone give me more information or suggestions on what you would do many thanks debbie2

Have you had it looked at by a reptile veterinarian? The shriveled part might need to be removed so it doesn't risk moving too far up. Do post a pic if you can for us to see, it'll give a better idea of whats going on with the tail.
