also could be titled why I hate people... I was in Petsmart today getting the weekly supplies of crickets and other misc goodies, and while I was in line to check out some lady was raising heck trying to return an Iguana in a coffee can that she was sure she had bought there, after it had bit her 10 year old son. No rescript, not to mention the store hadn't sold an iguana recently. About the time she was threatining to let the poor guy loose in the store, I said the heck with it, and offered her $25 for him sight unseen. Well, other than perhaps a little dehydrated, he's a perky little fellow. He's set up in the only tank I had handy and clean with whatever I could scrounge up. It's a little big for him, but I'm sure he will be growing in to it soon enough. I'll get more green and places to hide soon enough, but I think he's had enough stress for one day. The plants in there are live, for a nice place to hide and humidity. I forget what they are, but they are one of the 'good' greens.. I grow them in containers for Spike to tear up. He's got chopped turnip and mustard greens, as well as some finely sliced peppers, blueberries, and rasberrys, currently only 1 UVB bulb thats older, but I'll pick up a couple before work tommorow, and I still need to build a lid section that can handle a basking light, but as this house won't see under 80 until fall, that can wait a couple days. And of course... pics. Any guess on age... other than really young.

Well without any measurements it looks pretty small so i wouldn't say more that 2 months old. You're quite lucky to have had that tank on hand it should give you ample time to build another and let him get accustomed to you and his new surroundings. Nice and roomy. What you could always do for a basking bulb is create a basket type thing that hangs into the enclosure out of hard ware cloth (metal "screen") sort of like this: tank lip-------___lamp___------tank lip I don't know if that helps lol P.S. Spike doesn't look impressed at all lol But he's gorgeous!

Id say about 6" at most nose to vent, double that with the tail.. Not sure if he's eaten or just played in his food, but I'm used to spike going through a 10" dinner plate full of leaves and other goodies every day so he might just not eat much yet. Finally got a couple decent pics.

Good save Khaos! I would not have offered her a dime, however. Not sure if I could have drudged up some tact - but I would have gotten it one way or the other as a surrender. Freakin' idiot. Sorry...did I say that out loud? Bad day today...
VERY pretty little thing, though. Lucky for it you were there...:-)

I just figured it was the fastest way to get the poor little guy out of her hands and in to mine. It would have been nice to have the extra 1/4 tank of fuel.
Still very skittish, but I have been able to hold him a little, and not even get whipped.
I'm still trying to resist naming him/her Juan Valdez... (came in a coffee can LOL)

I think I would guess to the age at about 4-5 months of age.. The spikes on the neck line are just starting and if you look real close you have one on the nose there too.. The front and back legs are skinny [as they should be for this age] and it has the lateral line going down the side because he isn't hydrated like he should be.. That is a BABY, not a juvie.. Just my guess!!??
