So i must admit i havent been on for a while, due to moving and starting a new job i havent really had much time for the computer
anyways Yazhi is getting quite big and he is becoming quite a handsome young man. My question is today i was taking him out of his enclosure he usually puts up a little fight but after a few seconds lets me pick him up then hes fine tonight he was putting up a really bad fight whipping and everything which he usually doesnt do to me and he was also doing something new he was standing on all 4 legs up straight and making a huffing sort of sound ive never seen him do it and was wondering whats going on, maybe his first breeding season?
not sure so yeah any ideas guys?
and ill be sure to post some pics of him soon so you all can see how big hes getting ;D

VERY important clue to his behavior!! Do not take that stance lightly. It's his "I'm a bad dude and I might just try and show you how bad!" Be careful...it's the red flag indicator that the next step could be him charging.
Welcome to breeding season... ;D.
As long as you know what it means then you can take appropriate precautions. Chances are he won't do more than that, but be aware he can and many do. Zair does this too...especially now. I'll reach in anyway and once I begin to scratch his head he flattens back out...but I'm reaching in with extreme caution. He shows every indication he's about to bite...even opening his mouth some.

thanks, yeah he hasnt opened his mouth or anything it was just the stance and the huffing sound. i eased my hand closer and started rubbing the back of his head to calm him down (he usually LOVES that) but it didnt seem to work and he just kept running
so good to know hes in breeding season lol thanks!
