The darkening of the skin can be a sign of stress or fear in this case. Is your gf new to your Ig? Does she not handle him often? They will aslo darken to help thermo-regulate. Sine darker colors help absorb heat.

no she never holds him, but she "talks" to him all the time and pets him and tells him she loves him, lol. but i guess it could have been out of fear. her hands were really shaky because she was scared of him. could that have done anything?

Probably, I mean if he isnt normally handled by her and she is scared of him, I would say he was probably terrified.

Well she needs to relax, and realize that Reptar cant hurt her, he is just a little guy. Im sure he can sense that she is nervous and that will make him nervous.

;D I always laugh when my hubby picks up Angus and gets whipped, and he laughs with me. He is the only person that Angus whips.

me and her are the only ones that touched him or held him. everyone is to scared. he has never whipped at me or tried biting me....today my football coach asked me if that means hes starting to get comfortable with me. i told him 'i dont know, i hope so'.

With regular handling He should settle down. If you're the main caretaker you might want to think about a shared responsibility. Alternate days or every other week for who feeds and cleans. This will give you all an equal rotation and allow him to get used to both of you in established routines.
