I'm looking for a knowledgable & reasonably priced veterenarian in the Puget Sound area of Washington State.
I can't give more precise location info for security reasons (insane relative), but I may be willing to travel a bit anyway, so I'll sift through all recommendations.
FYI: The end of Rocky's tail is starting to whither up again (Dry Gangrene, perhaps). It is probably about time to have a vet give him a physical anyways, so I will have it looked at by a qualified professional, once we find one.

Thanks. Here is one that I linked to from one of the ones you gave above: www.arav.org/Members/WA.htmI'll keep you posted. He is still behaving happy and healthy, but we'll get it looked at ASAP. I suspect Iguanas are like birds... can't show weakness (predators might see it and select weaker ones who cannot escape).

I need to find someone with an unused trombone case (maybe they got a new one, or the instrument got destroyed).
I could add a window to it and some ventilation... Rocky would fit perfectly for transportation!

Oh my Mark! A velvet lined hard case -- that's just too much like being in a coffin!

Ok Inventors...
Why has nobody designed a custom built self contained transportable habitat to comfortably transport a full size Iggy to the vet ...?
somthing with a 12vDC heting and lighting system...
It is quite apparent to me that there would be a damand as I have read many posts about people that are concerned about travelling distances ...especially in the winter months in colder climates...
James and Yoda...

I wasn't thinking of it as like a coffin... more like a lowrider car. Or a fancy baby carrier.
On designing a self contained carrier... the design is the easy part, kepping the price in a range that people will be willing to pay... that's the hard part.
If I could somehow make it appear to be a military project...

The way my vet had me do it was to get a card board box and put 2 liter bottles filled with hot water in the bottom of the box, then put a towel over that and voila heated containment unit.

You can also use a rubbermaid under-bed storage container...holes drilled through...and a power adapter in the dash lighter for a heating pad turned on low... ;D

Do they make 12V heating pads? I did see some battery powered foot warmers for outdoorsmen.
I had thought about those gell packets that can be frozen or heated to use as ice packs & hot compresses. If you get the ones in the camping/fishing dept at Walmart that are for your cooler they are cheaper than the one's in the pharmacy.

Hi Mark-
Maybe I missed it, but how'd the vet visit go? Is the Iguana's tail ok?
Please advise.
