Yesterday started off pretty scary. I went into Angus' cage to say good morning and he had just got done taking his morning poo.. But he was dragging his butt accross the shelf so I grabbed some paper towel to wipe the poop off. Well it didnt want to came off with a wipe so i tugged gently and he whipped me!!!!!!! Not normal behavior for him, so I put him in the tub to soak so I could see what was going on. There was about an inch of plastic bag hanging out of his vent . I put him back in his cage and waited for him to have to go again. Sure enough within maybe a half hour he climbed back down to go again, I grabbed the end of the bag and gently tugged as he pushed, it started to slide right out. Angus started walking away and it came all the way out! This is what came out (washed off of course), 6L X 2W Im still keeping an eye on him, though he seems fine. Goofy Ig!

Yep Igs will swallow the darndest things. I have heard of coins, subway tokens, balloons, even the owner's panties! A wandering ig will certainly make you look closer at your housekeeping practices!
At least it passed on its own!

Yep and Im working on each room to make sure its totally Ig proof again. It was ig proof at one point, dont know what happened. I really thought he would have a better chance of finding a small toy to eat, not a bag.

I'm glad everything turned out ok, Jen!! Igs have absolutely no sense when it comes to things within their reach. I'm glad Ziar's not done THAT one! He gives me enough trouble just being sassy these days.

Has the string passed? Whatever you do - do NOT pull on the string if it's only partially out. It may need to pass slowly on it's own. If you pull you could tighten it around his intestines. Give it a couple of weeks if this happens and if it doesn't come out the rest of the way on it's own a vet would be well advised.

oh it came out on its own. it scared the crap out of me. he was in the bathtub and looked like he had some problems so i turned the water off and watched for a sec, then all the sudden poo and string. my gods. but yea, he passed it and i changed the water and left him there for like half an hour and he loved it. he's fine but i'm in there like every 2 hours now looking around *O.O
