I'm sure everyone knows that before 18 months or so of age, it is very hard to determine your ig's gender based on physical characteristics. I'm also sure that everyone has heard the testing can be done, however it has to be DNA based. I never looked in to this, because I always assumed that the test would be incredibly expensive. I found out today that this isn't true.
I was doing a little bit of research, and there is a company called Zoogen that will perform a DNA gender test of your Green Iguana (no matter the age) for $25. You go to the website, print out a form, place a drop of blood from your iguana on the paper, and mail the form to them. It takes them only hours to determine the sex, they post the results of the test online the next day, and they claim it to be 99.99% accurate. I'm going to do it; what do you guys think?

could be a scam. Check the ending of their web page, if it is ".com" or ".net" don't trust it.

I would just be safe and be patient, and Im sure your Ig will be happier if you dont purposely clip its nail too short just to get a drop of blood. Yes it may be a scam.

Labs have been DNA testing parrots for sex for years. And it seems like I have heard the Zoogen name mentioned before. However it has never been so important to me to know the sex earlier that I would draw blood from my lizard for no other reason.
