My new baby, soda pop is lethargic. There is no vets open (that care for iguanas) for another week. i have called them. i have had him for about a week, and he was fine. he did have a Very big infestation of mites, which i have gotten rid of. But after that, he has been loosing a lot of skin. I know iguanas shed. but this comes off in scales all over your hands after you hold him. His stripes have gotten darker and he looks a more darker shade of green. I have tried feeding him, i put him in warm water, put him under his light, and he seems to perk up for about a few seconds. help !!!

I'm sorry to hear that The same thing happened when I got mine before Denwen, the store said they usually lose a couple out of every batch so I got pick of the litter of the next group. I hate that pet stores don't care enough to take care of their animals. Try reporting them to your local agency, heck, call Animal Control & they can tell you exactly who to call.

i think i will. two baby iguanas died. we took amazing care of them. we think they may have had internal parasites, along with mites.

2? That's not good, there had to be something wrong with them. The first one I brought home died in 2 days, the store said it was the last one of that batch so was the smallest & was probably already sick & dying, I was afraid I'd have just as bad of luck with the 2nd but so far so good...except he isn't growing. at all. vet's happy with everything else about him except he's "tiny". Do you plan on getting another?

you should never buy igs from stores that sell in "batches" too tight quarters, they should only have one or two at a time if they are a good store..

My first iguana died too cuz he was sick, and I didn't know it. I thought something was wrong and I made my mom take me back to petco and the reptile lady there said he was fine. when I got back from a trip with my family (my friend watched him and took care of him while I was gone) he had died. Stupid petstore...
